One World Media Week - New Talent Day

- Jezza Neumann, award-winning documentary filmmaker from True Vision Productions, on how to develop your documentary skills
- Olly Lambert, award-winning documentary filmmaker and cameraman, on the importance of an engaging narrative in current affairs media coverage of the wider world
- the WorldView Live Pitch, in which seven new and emerging documentary filmmakers pitched their ideas to an industry panel, with the chance to win £8000 funding. The winning film was 'Sisters', proposed by Anne Milne - click here to read more about her film, and the other shortlisted proposals.

What did people say?
"I found the New Talent Day run by One World Media extremely interesting and inspiring. The day was well organised and gave great insight into cross-platform media and the pitching process. The speakers gave practical advice but were nonetheless optimistic about the opportunities for aspiring documentary makers."
"It was definitely a fantastic opportunity for me to know how documentary pitching works in the real industry. And I found many people who love documentaries as much as I do. We could probably work together and help each other in future. Thank you so much for giving us a platform to share our ideas and projects with others."
"I was inspired to produce documentaries with ethical journalism."
"For me it was a fantastic and all-too-rare opportunity to hear from seasoned and skilled journalists working in that field, and to listen and learn with like-minded people."
