Double Win for Guardian at One World Media Awards
The Guardian's Global development website was last night presented with a One World Media award for its coverage of the millennium development goals.
The site, launched in September last year, was praised for making it possible for people to join in a global conversation on the MDGs.
Guardian columnist and foreign correspondent Jonathan Steele won the press award for his G2 report on the effectiveness of the UK's aid and development teams in Helmand province, Afghanistan...

C4 Triumphs at One World Media Awards
Channel 4 won a total of five awards at last night's One World Media Awards including Journalist of the Year which went to Channel 4 News' International Editor Lindsey Hilsum.
Hilsum beat off stiff competition in an all-female line up to scoop the coveted gong at the event which recognises excellence in media coverage of the developing world...

Winners of the One World Media Awards Announced
The BBC wins in three categories at the One World Media Awards in London last night.
Welcome to Lagos, a BBC Two observational documentary series, explored life in Lagos, Nigeria, one of the most extreme urban environments in the world. It picked up the documentary award.

Channel 4 News Editor Takes Top Prize at One World Awards
Channel 4 News' international editor Lindsey Hilsum has won Journalist of the Year at the annual One World Media Awards.

Channel 4's Lindsey Hilsum was named Journalist of the Year at the One World Media Awards 2011 in London yesterday.
Hilsum triumphed over an all-female line up, with judges describing her reporting from Gaza, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Congo as "story-telling at its best... this was a master class in provocative journalism." The Press Award was won by Jonathan Steele for his Guardian G2 feature ‘Real Life Inside Helmand', which reported on the UK's aid and development work in Afghanistan...

Channel 4 Scoops Five One World Media Awards
Channel 4 was last night awarded five One World Media Awards which recognise excellence in media coverage of the developing world - more than any other media organisation. Channel 4 News International Editor Lindsey Hilsum beat off stiff competition in an all-female line up to win the coveted Journalist of the Year award.
The unanimous choice of the judges, they described Hilsum's reports from Gaza, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Congo as: "story-telling at its best... This was a master class in challenging and provocative journalism..."
