Awards 2003

The 2003 One World Media Awards were presented at the Marriott Hotel in London by Jon Snow. Jeremy Hardy, the comedian and broadcaster, gave a special introduction to the ceremony.

The evening featured a tribute to Gaby Rado, the ITN journalist who was killed while covering the Iraq war in 2003.

There was also an appearance by a group of young people from India, who picked up the Special Award for Development Media, which goes each year to a community media project in the developing world. They had taken part in the Children Have Something To Say project, run by Plan India, in which hundreds of young people were trained to make original and thought-provoking films about their lives.
