Mediae produces a highly popular educative television drama series in Kenya called Makutano Junction which attracts over 7 million Kenyan viewers. They have now developed interactive and innovative on-line resources around the porgramme for secondary school students which successfully challenge children's attitudes and perceptions as they learn about Kenya, Africa, development and poverty.

The jury said:

'With so much focus in New Media on the ‘new' its hugely refreshing to some across a brilliant idea, brilliantly executed. Makutano Junction brings the voices of the developing world into the classroom so UK children can view them as peers. The result is innovative, charming and engaging and the judges feel stands out as model that everyone could learn from.'
