Announcing our new Interim Director
We are thrilled to introduce our new Interim Director, Chinwe Kalu-Uma.
Chinwe has been One World Media’s Head of Partnerships and Fundraising since 2025, leading the development of strategic and commercial partnerships to amplify the voices of journalists and filmmakers telling underreported stories from the Global South.
Her career brings a wealth of experience at the intersection of international broadcasting, digital media and strategic partnerships that generate both impact and income. Spending 10 years at the BBC, Chinwe led complex distribution projects and commercial partnerships and played a key role in expanding BBC services globally. Her experience includes negotiating multi-market agreements, advising senior leadership on strategic growth, and navigating regulatory and political risk across diverse regions, particularly in Africa.

Chinwe is passionate about the role civil society plays in shaping the world. She contributes to governance and policy as a trustee for a UK-based peacebuilding organisation, leading media advocacy and engaging policymakers on issues of security and social justice in Nigeria and the Sahel region. She is currently pursuing an MPhil in International Relations at the University of Cambridge, with a focus on international media and soft power.
