Your guide to enter the One World Media Awards 2022

The entry deadline to the prestigious 34th Annual One World Media Awards is this week! You have until Thursday 10 February 2022 at 11pm to send in entries.

The awards are a unique opportunity to have your work seen by some of the most accomplished media leaders in the industry. This year, we have 60 judges from around the world across 15 categories who will choose from entries in film, print, audio, digital and broadcast.

To help you out, we’ve put together this handy guide to completing the application form. Get started and good luck!

  • Entry name should be the title of your piece, not your name – unless you’re applying for New Voice or International Journalist of the Year Awards.
  • The short synopsis should be as succinct as possible
  • If your piece is not originally in English, please provide an English translation
  • Make sure all links are working and accessible (not geo-blocked or behind a paywall)
  • If submitting a series of work, there needs to be one piece that is the focus of the entry. Please make this clear
  • At checkout, make sure you have ticked the correct type (i.e Standard/Freelance/Student) so you pay the right amount
  • Don’t leave submitting your form too late. Depending on the size of your file, uploading your work can take a while so make sure to give yourself plenty of time.
  • Judges will be looking for media that covers underreported stories or new angles and approaches to more familiar stories. Go through our  eligibility and selection criteria and make sure it’s clear how you meet them on your form.
  • If you think your work fits into more than one category, go for it! Not sure where it should fit? The previous longlist is a good reference point. You can see previous winners and nominees here

Reminder: There is an application fee to enter the Awards. A discount form is available here.
